Welcome to Our Family Home in Hillsvale, Nova Scotia, Canada. Hidden spaces, and lush pathways are scattered among our 5 acre property. Our home, bunkhouse, greenhouse, barn, trellises and pergolas were all built by the original owners, the McClare Family who owned the local wood mill along with hundreds of acres of forested land.

We have recently transformed our almost 70 year old barn into a charming and eclectic community hosting venue, which is also home to our wild-crafted herbal body care line dig it! Naturals. All events are held in the Resilient Barn or outside among the extensive herbal gardens, hidden pathways and secret spaces scattered throughout our property.

Resilient Barn

We host small weddings, photo shoots, film locations, retreats, tasting sessions, herbal workshops, barter-based folk schooling workshops, and so much more. We are suitable for both business and personal retreats, and we welcome schools and community groups.

Whether you need some solitary self-healing space or some guided transition support, we are here for you. If you are looking for a beautiful, natural venue for your special occasion, please contact us. If you need some convincing, see our photo gallery below.

Resilient Barn is the home of dig it! Naturals product line. dig it! Naturals is about more than products made with high quality, all natural locally harvested ingredients. We provide work training opportunities, life skills, and social skill development for people with diverse abilities. All the products we make are created here on site with most herbs growing on our property.

Book a tour of our herbal gardens, home to over 75 medicinal herbs. Tour includes an introduction and visual demo of how essential oils are made using a traditional hand made copper alembic still. Enjoy herbal teas and mocktails as part of your experience.
